Final Grade
While you can pass an assignment with a result of 50% or more, you must achieve a Final Grade of at least 60%.
Assignment marks are weighted to reflect how they grow in importance and difficulty as the course progresses. By Assignment 3, a higher level of critical thought and reasoning is needed.
Assignment One is worth 20% of your final grade, Assignment Two is worth 35% and Assignment Three is worth 45% of your final grade.

All of your work, including your journal, court observations and the results of your practicum, will assist with the final decision for recommendation to the Chief District Court Judge.
Marking of Assignments
All assignments are submitted to the marker anonymously. After they have been marked, a random selection of assignments will be independently moderated.
Assignments will be returned to you at the earliest opportunity. Due to our marking and moderating process, there is no set date for assignment results to be released.
Journal
The journal is to be submitted for marking on the same due date as assignment 3. This is marked by the course facilitator rather than the assignment marker.
Court Observations
You are required to attend court at least twice while you are studying the course. There are 2 compulsory court observation worksheets to complete following court visits within the course. Due dates are indicated on the course calendar. The court observations do not receive a mark, but you will receive feedback from the course facilitator which may be of assistance to you for your assignment work.
